The problem

A language school runs on small manual jobs: answering the same questions on WhatsApp, taking registrations and payments by phone, sending class links, checking who attended and deciding who is ready for the next level.

Many students learn online on mobile data, so a video tool that assumes a fast connection was not an option, and neither was an AI tutor that can be talked into anything or run up a bill. The center also had to be careful about what it promises: it prepares students for official exams but does not issue recognised certificates.

The hard part

Keeping it cheap, safe and honest at the same time. The Exam Coach answers from a guard and a 44 question FAQ set first and calls a model only when it has to; the server builds the prompt, counts each message against a daily limit and saves the scores itself, so nothing the browser sends can change them. Access is decided in the database, not on the page: six roles from student to director are row level security rules, a teacher only reads their own classes, and a student can be in a live class on one device at a time. The test suite even fails if wording like certified courses or an invented pass rate creeps back into the copy.

Where it stands

In development. The public website, the student portal, the live classroom and the admin panel run on a preview deployment, ahead of launch on the center's own domain. Live video, the database, the AI and Mobile Money payments have so far been tested against mocks in more than 120 automated tests, so the first real classes and payments come next. Still on the list: class recordings, breakout rooms and automatic payment confirmation.
